Tools for Togetherness quest

And winners are ...

As from September 2007 we have been asking people to send us their picture of an ideal moment of togetherness amongst people and the tool they use for it. The jury had the difficult task to nominate 10 pictures and one head prize winner out of more than 400 entries.

from: Anne Peters
The tool for togetherness depicted here is a festive occasion, with music and dance. You can look at this picture in 10 years time and still feel the positive spirit it reflects. And this feeling of promoting good times amongst people also is one of Extremis’ trade marks. Congratulations to Anne Peters!!

The jury consisted of:

Xavier Debeerst

founder of Anamorfose, specialist in vintage and rare photography

Christoph Ruys

Director Fotomuseum Antwerpen

Nina De Man

trend researcher for The Future Laboratory, tv and radio presenter

comment jury: Very ‘tongue in cheek’ photography as we witness the moment after the fun.

from: An De Becker

comment jury: What can be more enjoyable than sharing a moment of music together? No further comment necessary.

from: Sandra Declercq

comment jury: Intimite togetherness. Preparing and serving food is an ideal and beautiful moment of being together.

from: Roy Stout

comment jury: There is an interaction with the photographer as well as with the co-workers. These guys are out to do a good job!

from: Lindsay Van Lersberghe

This is the only entry to the contest on a Polaroid picture. The pure fun of the situation convinced the jury of a nomination.

from: Jan van der Zee

comment jury: Two elderly people that have trouble walking but still even make the effort to enjoy a moment at the beach. A moment of togetherness that makes you think for a while.

from: Ruben Reehorst

comment jury: This is a rather absurd picture. However, the tool for togetherness is the camera itself or the photographer that made the picture. This creates involvement with the viewer.

from: Yves Drieghe

comment jury: Receiving mail by post is being together from a distance, and seeing the neighbour at the same time, is double the fun!

from: Lucy Lambriex

comment jury: ‘If the fence could tell the stories of the people that sat on it, you could write a book’. A very pure moment of togetherness indeed.
